CHURCH GREETERS
A friendly smile, handshake, or hug can help put any worship time into motion. Church Greeters make it their outreach to welcome every person entering the church and assist as needed. Whether a guest or a weekly attendee, they make everyone feel welcome and encouraged to bring a smile into the worship service.
BY FAITH
Musicians and singers combine to lead the congregation in praise and worship songs with a selection of both hymns and modern worship choruses. Ranging from keyboard to guitarists, drummers, flutist and more, those with musical talents help provide an atmosphere that honors God and leads the congregation in worship. Singers blend with the instruments to lead the congregation in praising and worshipping God.
By Faith provides music on Sunday mornings during the 10:30 hour, and also participates in special services of the church as well as fellowship gatherings.
The group practices on Thursday evenings unless otherwise noted.
MUSIC SELECTIONS
At South Pymatuning Community Church, we complement worship services with various musical selections. Soloists, duets, small ensembles, and an adult choir provide musical supplements to the worship service. Selections include hymns as well as modern-day worship songs and instrumental pieces. Occasional guest groups provide musical selections as well.
Adult choir practice is open to participants from grade 7 through adult and meet for rehearsal Wednesday evenings at 7:30 following Bible Study. Other musicians and vocalists practice individually with sound room personnel as needed.
READERS AND WORSHIP LEADERS
The reading of Scripture or the leading the congregation in corporate responsive reading is an important part of worship. These ministers are prepared to lead a group of people through the reading of worship selections and Biblical passages in preparation for studying God’s Word through the preaching and teaching ministry. Readers and Worship Leaders receive selections in advance of the service for proper preparation for the worship time.
USHERS
Both men and women serve in the ushering ministry of the church. After a greeting at the main door, an usher welcomes attendees to the sanctuary for worship and also aids in seating needs and provides weekly service information. Ushers also participate in the collection of God’s offering and serve others during the communion services of the church.
The church provides training and special instruction for this ministry area.
